Ticonderoga's only grocery, so not much of a choice. However, Walmart is pretty good with pricing and selection. Beer cooler is huge, with craft and generic choices abound. Need bait, it's here also. How about a new bike, it's here. Fish for your aquarium? Are you into sewing? It's here.... so much, kinda like a general store....
Well stocked, friendly employees, and the only Wal-Mart for miles around. Decent Wal-Mart prices. Always satisfied with my shopping experience here!
Not bad a location when you need a few items. I needed fresh dill and kosher salt. Busy during the summer weekends! Would come back again while up in the ADK region.
The Walmart in Ticonderoga is one of the best managed stores I've been in in quite a while. Everyone was extremely helpful, including a young man on his first day, who insisted on taking me to the department I had asked for, saying, "Nobody wants to hear, 'It's over there.'" The woman at the deli counter took the initiative to put a slice of plastic between each slice of my cold cuts after I said that I wanted them sliced thin, but not too thin to be able to separate them. When I couldn't figure out how to fold up a chair that had a hidden latch, somebody was right there to fold it and put it away. The store was extremely clean, and there were no unshelved goods blocking the aisles or unattended. Cash register lines were moving well despite its being a peak shopping time; and there was a manager overseeing the front of the store to ensure that they did. I never thought I'd give a Walmart five stars, but this one deserves it.
Never enough lanes open, half of what you need is either out of stock or rotted or a day or two from being rotted. My fruits and vegetables never last more than a couple days from there so I only buy it when I absolutely have to. Prices suck compared to when they first open... I use to love Walmart now I avoid it as much as possible. I'll stick with Aldi's!
